…that’s a questions I’ve asked myself many times. And I must tell you IT DOES.
I’m very excited! I worked out a deal with a well known internet marketer to trade VA duties for coaching!
Times are a little tight around here. My husband was laid off for a few months and recently went back to work at a new job. Its mainly to get his foot in the door with this company. He has a lot of experience in his field and there is great potential for him to move up the ladder quickly. But in the meantime I want to move my business forward and I really want and need coaching but cannot afford it. I have been thinking for a long time about approaching someone I admire in internet marketing about interning or trading VA work for coaching but just really didn’t think anyone would go for it. You know money talks but “hey I’ll work for coaching” not so much.
I had 3 people in mind who I look up to and have purchased numerous awesome products from that I wanted to barter with for coaching. Well one of them doesn’t do any coaching or mentoring so she was out of the question. I just didn’t have the guts to approach the other two. It had been gnawing at me to just ask but I couldn’t muster up the courage. No one wants to get turned down and I’m no different. But, one morning I was feeling particularly confident and attended an online “start your week off right” get together that one of them hosts. So, I took the plunge and asked her to trade her coveted coaching program for my VA skills and to my utter surprise she agreed!
I already tremendously respected her work and now it has doubled in my respect for her as a person. Its good to know there are successful people out there willing to pay it forward to fellow marketers in need of direction.
This just goes to show that it doesn’t hurt to ask. As long as you have something of equal value to barter with then there is no reason to be ashamed or afraid of asking. All they can do is say no. They would be paying someone to do the work anyway so why not keep the cash and pay in time.
The bottom line is I’m very appreciative of this opportunity and the generosity of my new coach, Kelly McCausey!
