This is the time of year that people reflect on the past year and look toward the new year with anticipation. I’ve been working on reviewing what was working for me and what wasn’t in both business and in life. I’m making a few changes to get in sync with what I really want.
I haven’t put myself out there enough. I’ve provided some good information but I’m way to stiff and don’t let you in on enough of my personality. I’ve known this but I’ve also been afraid to open up too much.
The problem with this is that I’m not connecting in the way I want to with you. You know how when you read someone’s post that really shows their personality and you can immediately connect with them and you come back because you want more of that. Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about.
The blogs that I’m attracted to are ones where I feel like I’m gaining the knowledge I’m looking for as well as getting to know the blogger in such a way as I feel a level of friendship with them. Even if they have no idea who I am as a reader I feel like I know them because they’ve opened up and shared pieces of themselves with me. So, in a nutshell that is one of the big things I’m going to be focusing on more in the new year.
For the past couple of years, I feel like I’ve had my head down at the computer learning how to build and working on my online business. I was flying by the seat of my pants without a proper plan making it hard to get away from my computer because I might miss something.
I feel like I haven’t given my family the proper attention they need. And, this is one of the reasons I chose to work from home is so that I can be here for all the little (and big) things with my family. They deserve to have me present in the moment. I’m firming up my business plan for 2014 so I won’t be winging it anymore. This is going to help me in all areas of my life!

Approaching 2014 A Little Different
This brings me to other day, I read a post by Nicole Dean about resolutions and why they don’t work. I thought about this for a while and it is so true. I’m guilty of building a ridiculous list of resolutions every year that are unattainable so I end up giving up, feeling like a failure. This year I’m going to do it different and not create a list but pick out three words to focus on to help me reach my goals.
My words are:
I’m excited to put 2013 in the books and get moving in 2014!
How about you? What are your intentions for 2014?
