I’m always on the lookout for better ways to get and stay organized and manage my time. Thanks to the great ladies at the Solo Masterminds forum I found Boomerang for Gmail. Wow! What a great tool!
The way it works is if I get an e-mail but I don’t have time to deal with at the moment I go ahead and hit the boomerang button and I can send it back to myself in whatever time frame I choose – it could be in a hour, a day, a week or on a certain date. This is really nice when you need to deal with the email but don’t have the time at that moment.
Sometimes I’ll get an email from a list I’m on that has an article or something I want to check out but don’t have the time then so I’ll leave it in my inbox thinking I’ll get to it. Well it sits there for a while and I end up getting annoyed so then I just delete it. Apparently, I like having a clean inbox.
I’ve also tried saving it to a folder to read later but, I’m sure you know the old saying “out of sight out of mind”, well yeah, that’s me.
Another cool feature is being able to create emails to send later. Those of us who use Gmail know that when you compose a message you either send it now or it stays in drafts. Well with Boomerang you can compose the message and choose to send it out at a later date automatically.
Here’s a YouTube video from the creators of Boomerang explaining more about it.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I am!

Samantha,
Where has this been all of my life? Thank you, I will check it out immediately. Exactly what I need.
Gotta laugh, this reminds me of what we used to do in the pre-internet days when corporate brass was coming to town. If we had to clean up the office, we’d take all the papers off our desks and in-boxes, stuff them into those “internal communication” envelopes, address them to ourselves and send them to the mailroom.
Next afternoon, after the brass had left, our “mail” was delivered to us and work would resume.
Guess we had an early non-electronic version of Boomerang!
Cheers, Anita
